Fluorite, Rosiclaire, Hardin County, Illinois

$2,500.00Price
Quantity

A superb and highly aesthetic Illinois fluorite featuring translucent honey amber cubes with pronounced purple edge zoning and excellent internal luminosity. This specimen displays a complex, tightly intergrown crystal arrangement with attractive stepped growth features and strong architectural presence from every angle.

What sets this piece apart is the saturation and contrast of color. The warm golden interiors transition into deep violet to grape colored edges, producing exceptional visual depth both in ambient lighting and under backlighting. Several cubes exhibit intricate internal texture and phantom like zoning, while scattered dark inclusions provide additional character without distracting from the overall presentation.

This specimen has a distinctly classic Southern Illinois appearance while still offering a combination of color, translucency, and form that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in older material. Pieces with this type of sharp edge zoning and balanced composition rarely surface today, particularly with strong provenance attached.

Ex collection of Sheldon Ripple and Don Hadlock with original collection card included.
